Quite a unique car, not many of them on the road. Car is from California originally. Was a factory powersteering, A/C, and big block car. Has original 390 amd 3 speed auto. Car has rebuilt front end, powersteering ram was taken off by previous owner so car is a manual steering car now but i have all the hardware and pump to make it power again. The A/C pump was also taken off of car but i have that too. Car has new starter solenoid, passenger side exhaust manifold with new manifold gaskets, no exhaust leaks at all now. Car has new carb, new plugs wires, new pertronix ignition, starter was rebuilt in summer, has new powermaster 90amp alternator that looks like the original generator. New brakes, new fuel sender, new headlight relays. Car now has original tail light lenses which are extrememly hard to find. Interior is in great shape. Older restoration. Thinking paint was done in 90s sometime. Car runs and drives great. My plan was to put in C6 trans, so comes with Crites performance Trans adapter to make the conversion easy. Also comes with brandnew 406 exhaust manifolds, with all new hardwarr and gaskets. Along with new motor mounts. Please contact me with any questions. Please do not call asking me stupid questions on trades for crap. And i dont need help selling car either.
Neat car, haven't seen one of those in years. Gaining a new appreciation for vintage FoMoCo products that I never had growing up.
Always enjoy looking at cool Mercury’s especially 4 speeds. This seems like a good deal. Looks like it might be mini-tubbed too!
I know they made those until '64 and the "Pent-roof" taller versions from '65-'66. After that, I believe they went to the standard "Power by Ford" covers.
If it's tranny fluid you need a couple of quarts hanging around for power steering, there's no way those early Fords will stomach modern power steering fluid, I wouldn't be too concerned...
As a guy who owns and has owned a few cars/trucks with FEs (the 390 is an FE), they're kinda like AMF Harleys....they like to mark their territory from the rear main.
I haven't seen one yet without a sloppy thrust bearing! I know when I rebuilt mine I followed the chassis manual to the letter when it came to preloading that thrust bearing, and surprise, surprise, it worked, no leaks! (and it did have oil pressure)
