Would like to have a straight in T Stat housing / Water neck for the new engine going in the Skyhawk. It will make things fit , work and look way better. Wondering if I can take the housing off a Nail head and somehow make it work?.

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Nailhead is too large diameter. I think your making one is the only fix.
Cut the neck off, and re-weld.

    You got mad skillz.

Bought a "kit" from Summit with different silicone rubber 90's 45"s and straight connectors along with mandrel bent pieces of alumn pipe for making custom radiator hoses. Used what I needed to make up the lower and then got to looking at the upper. This cars radiator sits low in the front. John C had put in a filler cap inline just after the upwards pointing stock Tstst housing. Would be so much better looking and functional if it was coming out straight then down instead of up and the back down. Used a part from the kit and some 1/2" aluminum plate to cut the base out of.

Nice. I'd swap the coolant sender to the hole by the number one runner and hook the bypass hose through the hole by the thermostat

Race only application with no stat. no reason for the bypass. I'll tap and plug the nipple in the timing cover

Interesting. All the race engines i've been apart of were in bracket cars. We ran thermostats to try and have the same engine temps every run for consistency. There's a million ways to skin a cat though.

The stat could still be installed and if I make a batch of these its gonna have a threaded 3/8 hole with a brass plug in that location so the buyer / owner can thread in a 5/8 hose barb to connect the line
