    41Speciman........

I'm not sure. I've never used Fastenal to ship (normally don't have to ship such large/heavy pieces). I see that they have Fastenal / Blue Line shipping - and they do not ship between the Easterna dn Western US. Looks like you are in Colorado - so no issue there.

Question for you - if you have used them...........
I am going to need to either band this thing to a pallet, or go to the Transmission shop that went through this for me and see if they have shipping boxes / containers that I could take or buy.

Let me start asking some questions today - and see what I can determine.
What's going to suck is getting it ready to ship for accurate weight........ But I knew that was going to be part of the deal if someone non-local wanted this.

Just for your info - I bought this from Kenne-Bell in May of 1989
    It's been a great trans.

What tells you a heavy duty case Ben? I know there was a ST400 and ST300 - but I didn't know about case differences.

The extra webbing in the bellhousung area. The case will have a thicker pan rail, and extra ribbing inside the case near the output shaft

Hey there 41specimen. I called the transmission shop that I had used - and they could not help with shipping advise. All of their business is local. I also submitted a quote request to Fastenal / Blue Line Freight - for a rough cost on shipping the trans/converter/extras to 80631 (all banded to a wooden pallet). I'll let you know what they come back with. My guess was 4'x4'x30" and a 150lb weight. Might be a little low on the weight - but if it looks like shipping cost works for you - I'd accept payment for the bulk cost - and then we can fine tune the shipping cost when I get a pallet, package everything up, and take it to the shipping yard. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks, Jim

41Speciman - Well, I have a quote back from Fastenal - and it's not too bad - $194.62 (and please remember that this is a rough quote from them based on my best guess). I'll have to find / scrounge a pallet - and figure out how to get it banded.
One problem though - they are showing a pickup location of Douglas, Wyoming (82633).
Let me know if you still want me to go down this path please.
    Thanks!

And they just confirmed that the closest they can get to you is Douglas.

Sorry for so many replies - Just looked up Greyhound - and their maximum 1pc weight is 100lbs........ so the trans would be over weight.
Just requested quotes on U-Ship - and I'll let you know what they come back with. Any other suggestions?

First U-Ship quote came back at $500. Crazy spendy. Have another guys who said he could pick it up on the 6th and deliver it on the 7th, but no quote yet. Back to you with more info soon.

Another quote at a “Discounted” $450.
It would be cheaper to throw it in a car and drive it up to you!

Too bad I wasn't the first to see your post. I live in Tucson, could come see and buy in person. Anyhow I am second in line if it gets to me. Here's hoping.
