Guy is new to facebook, respond to ad and he should call you, original California car https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...ghtspeed_banner&referralCode=messenger_banner
Good Afternoon Troy, I am interested in this car and have contemplated going to see it myself. Are you planning on going to see the car this Saturday? Or are you willing to look at it for me? I have been in contact with the seller, Mike, but was worried of dealing with him since he was so new to FB. I have a bunch of pictures of it and the pictures make it look really good. If you set something up to look at it while you're around the area, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
We are headed to my brother in law’s place on Saturday. From the fb location of the seller it is really close to where I’ll already be. I don’t have any plans or intention to go see it UNLESS someone like yourself is interested. I’d gladly go see it if you’d like! Troy
It looks bad ass and looks to be a clean car, I just hate color changes because that means the car was ripped in a thousand pieces, and it also means it wasn't "loved" as is.... some guy wanted to "make it" something he could love. In simple terms, its now the wrong color, has a Chevy rear end, yellow plug wires lol, and a few other things I will let you all figure out. Not a bad price, not a bad car, just more of a "hot rod" to me at this point than it is a nice originalish GS.
I like it! I totally get building a car for yourself as you want it. Sure, it can make it tougher to sell sometimes. But then again, despite my proclivities for green cars, I'd bet a clean straight black paint job would be more appealing to many than green. Sharp car, and if plug wires were the biggest issue, let's be serious, anyone letting that hold them back is nitpicking and not a serious buyer anyway. Kinda like the gas station "how much?" jokers.
Riley, the yellow plug wires are more than just yellow plug wires. It speaks to the owner and or restoration of the car. No original wheels, no original radio, not original color, not original rear end, and who knows what else. The car is awesome if you want a hot rod, all I said, was it’s a damn shame they painted it black it ruined it for those that like originality, was just passing along it was not original so guys like me wouldn’t waste their time. If I was in the market for something like that it would be worth looking at it, looks solid and has some nice options.
How can you tell it was originally Sherwood Green? Is it listed somewhere on the build sheet? Also, the chrome along the bottom of the deck lid and the quarter panel extensions is missing. Would’ve been standard on a BB car. Sport mirrors are obviously incorrect for a 70 also. All in all I don’t see anything that couldn’t be corrected fairly easily sans the paint color.
I saw the trim tag. Bad ass car, not surprised at all it sold already, I hope it went to a good home.
Best thing he could have done was change the color from green to black and remove that side molding. Should have got rid of the vinyl top also.
