Hello has anyone fitted a Enginetech S1389 rear crank seal? I have a weeping seal at the moment and have the Enginetech seal in a gasket set from rock auto. I have looked at several posts on the site and they mention the TA Performance and the Ford seals and say they are both good for the job. Because I'm in England and already have the Enginetech seal I am thinking of installing it if I can get some positive feedback on its suitability and performance from any members that have installed them with no issues. If no one has any experience with them I will take the safe option and go the TA route as I don't want to do the job twice.
I have used Fel Pro BS40032 with no issues. Application is Ford 429-460 however fits with no issues nor trimming needed. One area to watch is the rubber seals that seal the side of the cap to the block. Use some good silicone to make it slippery and make sure that they slide all the way in easily, then install the nail to lock it in..
Buy the TA seal kit that comes with all the applicable stuff to do the job. It’s the 460 rear seal with the side block shims and pins needed. I offset the ends 1/4 inch.
Seems like I heard TA was working on a one piece split seal. Is that going to be available for the 300 by any chance? Jim
