I posted this car for sale last year when I was battling Leukemia. Great news, January bone marrow biopsy showed that I am currently cancer free. The car is currently on consignment at Phoenix Gateway Classics. The consignment ends March 1, 2022. I am offering it to board members at $65,000 from now until the Mecum Glendale auction March 16 -19, 2022. Here is the link for the Gateway ad: https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/vehicle/SCT/965/1970-Buick-GS The restoration was a frame off restoration in 2017, Gateway incorrectly stated a recent restoration and didn't revise when requested.
Great news on being cancer free. Have you sold at Mecum before if not send me a PM and I'll give you a call and give you the rundown of how to play their game
I can’t see anything on their website, and I can’t find anything here where you posted it….Can you give me some direction?
Hello, Here is the link again: https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/vehicle/SCT/965/1970-Buick-GS If that doesn't work for you, Google Phoenix Gateway Classics, my car is near the bottom of page 3. Let me know if that helps. Thank you for your interest. Richard
Brett posted a link to the pre-purchase video of my car from 2018. I want to make it clear that Brett posted this on my for sale post without contacting me. I don't have an issue with the sharing of the video, perhaps it would have been better to start a new thread and not add it video to my post without permission. The car is still as it appears in this video with approximately 100 more miles on the odometer. I did ha e an issue with the shifting linkage corrected by a local Buick restoration shop.
Duly noted. If I were trying to sell a car on here, I'd want as much exposure as possible. Especially a 30 plus minute video that does all the work for me but that's just me. Good luck with your sale.
Brett, Thanks for your response. Last summer I posted the video and received some negative comments from some members, they assumed that I was misrepresenting the video as a recently made video. I shared with them that I was in the hospital with Leukemia and was just sharing information and was not trying to mislead any potential buyers.
Taking into account you became I'll and only put 100 or so miles on the car after buying it, it could very well be representative of it's current condition. You're very welcome.
No mention that I see the status of engine and drive train. Original SS engine and is the trans original to the car. Thanks
Hello, The block and distributor are not original, transmission is original. It is my understanding that the original owner, a Buick engineer at Hometown Flint complex had block replaced at a local dealership. If you watch the video that Brett added to the post, those facts are called out. Please ask any additional questions. Thanks for your interest. Rick
Hi Rick. I just started searching for another Stage1 car. Do you have any photos of the restoration on this one? Did you replace any body panels? Please feel free to send me a PM and we can discuss. thanks, John
Hello John, The third owner performed the frame off restoration and took several pictures. I could email you pictures later today, this morning is my monthly check up with the oncologist. All original sheet metal with the exception of repairs to the lower rear quarters. The photos show what was repaired. I have ot scheduled to be auctioned at Mecum Glendale 2022, S-47. Here is the link: https://www.mecum.com/lots/AZ0322-495530/1970-buick-gs-stage-1/ Would you like to talk on the phone?
Love the color and glad to hear you are well! I am new to this club and ironically I am the guy who was going back and forth with you through Al about buying your car.
