Thanks! I was a little confused when comparing it to a Stage 2 thread here. I see he took the fly wheel off now. Wonder what his plans are for it or if it's even rebuildable. Anyways this is for another time and not on this awsome thread.
Thanks! Great news about next year! I was hoping this wasn't the last WOT! I hope to bring a car next year. I still think there needs to be a designated area at least on Friday to park non-show worthy cars. I'll have to dig up some better schwag to give away next year. That was last totally minute. I'd love to get there on Tuesday & have an extra recovery day or at least get better sleep before the drive but tbh, given my situation I'm lucky to be able to go at all. I had every intention of making it (for some reason I thought it started @5PM) right up until I got out of the shower & it hit me.
I hope so Fred! Either of your cars would be a hit but tbh, I'd say drive the beater! I've driven GSs (& Sportwagons) there, trailered cars there, and flown (& now driven my beater Camry w/utility trailer 3x shuttling parts). Trailering a car is probably the most practical & flying is better than not being there at all (@bostongsx hopped a last minute flight - Great to see you!) but driving a Buick there is hands down the best! And we all did it when there were no cell phones and survived. Funny thing is back in the 80's, our 15 y/o GSs were already "old cars." I drive my 22 y/o Camry down there, which doesn't even seem that old, and think nothing of it. I blew the rear up in my '70 GS 350 4-sp. in '86 (not racing mind you, that was fine - It grenaded while on Beech Bend road leaving the track!). We were 19 y/o & pretty broke. Someone trailered the car back to the Ramada for us & on a Sunday in BG I found a guy that not only delivered a Chevelle rear to us (for $50) but ran me downtown to the parts store to buy the hybrid u-joint & straps & we drove it home (the 4-sp & 2.78's made for an interesting combo). I assume the old rear (& from what I understand it's not the only one!) Is still buried in the brush behind the hotel, lol. I guess if like in WWII we ever need iron, there's a stash. I've always wanted to buy nice orig Electra, LeSabre, Riv, etc. & just cruise it down there too. I bet that'd be a blast!
Ken in the gray car was victorious over me and the silver car in this round of eliminations this year. Congratulations to Ken
Well Chris, it appears that 67's are like Unicorns even at a Buick event. I spotted only 1 '67 Skylark off in the distance in one of the pics posted.
