Above are two pictures of the driver side front window on a 69 GS/Skylark convertible with power windows. The window brace horizontal track bar (pictured) goes over the two screws that are on opposing sides (front and rear) of the window. The question is?...which picture is correct for which way that bar is positioned? The cut out in the middle of the bar should face up or down? I can't find it in all my Buick manuals. My opinion is that the cut out should face down but I'm not sure. It doesn't make sense that the cut out would face up? I didn't make a note of it when I removed the power windows from a 69 donor car! Does anybody have a 69 A-body door with the power windows with the door panel off to eyeball which way that horizontal bar faces. The bar for a 69 manual crank window does not have that cut out like the one in the picture. Maybe a 70-72 uses that same bar in the above picture for those cars with power windows also but... I don't know!?
Yes, you can see the curve in the glass and the bracket with the cutout will fit where the curve is. They were done to work together.
That's what I thought too and that's what I thought you meant. Terminology can sometimes need clarification. Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving!
