Sorry guys, been swamped. I try to be polite with some of the ding-dong’s comments and get a laugh too.
I saw the $51k bid and immediately notified my auction specialist to check for error as I knew it was, but didn’t want to leave it to deter others.
The good part is, I don’t have to sell, just testing the waters. Reserve is set lower than the parts cost that are like new, and, with availability of certain parts, another bonus, so it’s a good deal for a buyer for sure, either way, I hope it gets exciting Sunday afternoon!

All the pics are mine that I uploaded, clearly not a pro, and yes, they wrote the boiler plate ad, follows their common language to my chagrin, but they have their ways, and they used a encyclopedia of info I provided, and after a lot of back and forth…that was all they’d do. Let’s see if it works out.

It’s been listed here on this thread for $39k, are you going to bid on the BAT auction? I won’t disclose the reserve or course.

Too bad the Street Sleeper did not hit the reserve moleary. I have spectated BAT auctions over the years and I have to say that you have been one of the most accommodating and transparent sellers that I have seen on there. Every question was answered and every request for picture was fulfilled. I am sure that I am not the only one who appreciates that. Well done.

Thanks guys, good experience, I learned a little how BAT works, I have a hunch that had I known then what I learned after the auction, we would have gotten it done. That said, she’s still safe and sound in my garage….

I learned a few things, being a NEWB to the site, including:
    1) unless the auction says “No Reserve Auction” it’s understood there is a reserve, makes sense now but NewBs don’t realize that.
    2) bidders obviously don’t see the reserve amount, but, they also don’t get notified if / when a reserve is lowered, or,
    3) don’t get notified if / when bids meet the reserve.
    4) BAT is not a proxy bid type auction site. so bidders have to be present at the end if they want a chance to keep biding up.

#2-#4 above I don’t prefer. I feel having some action and knowing a bid isn’t at the reserve keeps bidders going if they want it. Also seeing the reserve is off can get a little frenzy going. And for sure, I like the proxy type of auction because a bidder may have a top dollar in mind, but may not be available when the auction is set to end. Obviously, a proxy max that’s. More than the set reserve wouldn’t trigger any notification, but if a proxy bid, or any other bid could trigger a notice that the reserve is met or off and the car will sell, is a good thing.

    Just my $0.02.

I think 2-4 are ebay style, and sellers who want that typically go there, and eBay doesn't charge buyer's a premium, so in theory they could bid higher on your car. BAT is trying to be different than eBay. One nice feature that I like (for seller's) is that the auction is extended when bids occur at the end, thereby allowing others to increase their bid and eliminating sniping.

Yeah Chris, I do like that 2 minute extension after each bid past end time. Overall I had a good experience just would have played it a bit more on the reserve to prompt a little more action.
