Small block car and doesn’t look like much left usable for parts. Will be tough to bring $3500 in my opinion, unfortunately
i see les and less ppl who know how to build cars anymore,,,,,,,,looks loe a guy who had the stuff long enough to loose intrest
Probably & then repainted. I've had 2 Burnished Cinnamon '71's & both had a crappie repaint that looked kinda like that.
Al is Not replying to you Adam.. but to someone back up the line who spoke the truth about this rusted out small block car.. Not sure why he was offended.. but whatever.. this car has the potential to be a good parts car at the right price, for convert specific stuff. The original N-25 bumper is nice, but a crap shoot as to if it's too rusted out to replate.. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.. JW
That'd sure make it a bit more unusual/desirable. Very few would be willing to take on restoring this one although if one did all the work themselves it could be a break-even deal depending on a lot of details about what's there/not/useable (e.g. the N25 apparently has holes in it from a trailer hitch), rust, etc. My '71 GS convertible (350/auto) is prob. in similar condition (came to me apart) although from what I can see more nicely optioned originally and I've been collecting parts for it's eventual (2nd in line) resto. Still not sure its allure to me - Colors, options, back story. Hopefully someone is willing to take this one on. Rare car (one of 599). Would be a shame to see it get parted.
Dano and Smartin- we all know too well how hard it would be to restore a 70-72 convertible. The ad states an extra frame is included. That right there is a serious concern. Based on the amount of rust that is shown in the photos, this needs fenders, doors, rockers, floors, quarters (including wheelhouses), I suspect the rad support and inners are shot, base of the windshield and cowl are shot.. Parts-wise, based on the amount of rust, many parts would be rough…..
The hood, bumpers and convertible specific parts seem like good cores and may bring value close to asking price, however, I'm quite sure the price is very negotiable if one were standing there with a trailer and a hand full of cash. In the one picture it seem as if the frame has vanished a foot or two from the wheel well. I'm sure the under body has matching non-metal (air) parts. Seats are gone and the thing seems like a heap. A posi rear would be a bonus. What a shame. There is no conceivable reason for anyone to even consider saving that car - rare doesn't always mean desirable or valuable.
Many with "no conceivable reason" to be saved have nevertheless been. I doubt anyone would attempt to save my current two basket cases, one of which you tried to talk me out of dragging home, lol. At least on my '71 convertible I knew there was way more $ in parts there than I paid for the "car." The '70 350 4-sp. was at best a wash in that respect.
