The most well known Halloween song: The Monster Mash—Bobby “Boris” Pickett and the Crypt -Kickers (1962)
Wilko Johnson has Gone Back Home... I'm so glad he overcame pancreatic cancer and had a good run after doing what he loved doing. RIP
Here's one I remembered the other day, side story it always reminds me of a buddy who's mom had 5 ex-husbands when we were in high school so the line about "no more husband as I don't know who my daddy is..." always made me chuckle Enjoy: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C1mJRmM7Ql4&ved=2ahUKEwiosqn8g9L7AhXmmWoFHYakDkoQ3yx6BAgSEAI&usg=AOvVaw3Bd-ftKtz8pAusjpISaWS8 Regards,, Jim
"One of the most terrifying things that ever happened to me was that Keith Moon decided he liked me." Joe Walsh explaining how Life's Been Good came together...
I grew up in the Rock and Roll era of the mid 60s, later, when Disco became a thing, I rejected it and found the "New Wave" (what the uninformed called "Punk". Dr. Feelgood was one of the leaders of that scene, and I dug it.) Living in Iceland, later, W. Germany, and visiting various places in Europe into the 80s, gave me exposure to things sadly missed in the "filtered/corporate" music machine of America.
Never thought of it like that. Now I will need to rabbit hole the UK music biz. Was it like the USA, record companies, stations, payola and all that mess?
I don't know, but I think payola was more of a 1950-60s thing. On the other hand, the Sex Pistols were a manufactured band, yet they don't often arouse the consternation of folks undermining their place in music.
Ahhh, we meet again my forgotten old thread And to think, I sold my '71 GS455 a couple months after posting this thread. The wound has been reopened Ahhhhhh!
Not so much a forgotten cool song, but a music video by a band that has precious little footprint on YouTube. This is fabulous.
