How difficult is it to find these? Value? Anybody have any? Looking for a non board member friend, I think even a stock 4 barrel intake would be better than the 2 barrel.
Is it that the aluminum 64 intake has smaller ports? I think I've read that but never seen the two together to compare. It'd be possible to make a valley pan and spacers to use the edelbrock rover intake, but the port size is my concern there, too.
I ran a 64 alum 4 bbl intake on my 66 300 for years without any problem. I don't understand why nobody else can and keep saying that the 65 4bbl intake is the only one you can run. Bought it from Dave Johnson when he ran NW Buick Performance back in the early 90s. Don't think he would have sold me the intake if it wouldn't have worked. And it did work. Put that intake on with a 500 Carter AFB, woke that motor up.
Ha! I did the same back around 1998. I paid $35 for the alum '64 intake and installed it on my '66 300. I did open up the intakes ports a little to better match the iron heads. Well worth the effort. Maybe someday T/A will make an intake for the little guy.....
I have an iron 4bbl intake I would sell. I can post pics if you want. Also have the carburetor if interested.
