Is there anything that can be expected between how an engine’s tune was on the dyno and how you have wound up on the track. I haven’t touched the motor in Hemi Hunter since it came off the dyno other than retarding the timing a couple to 32. Made best hp at 35. Have decided I’m going to shoot for a 9 second et this year. Just curious what changes you guys have seen between dyno and track.
Bracket, dropping timing will increase engine longevity. You can still dial in your consistent package. Heads up, horse of a different color. If your gonna hang it all out. Dyno vs track. The dyno knows nothing about your chassis, all the variables or how you and the car are married. My opinion.
Makes peak hp at 6300, been shifting at 6000. Again trying to baby it and help it live. Traps about 6300. When is the right shift point compared to hp numbers? Also has 3:73 gear with 30 inch tire.
Depending on air inlet on vehicle, you may increase intake pressure. Not factored generally on a dyno.
If it doesn't rattle at 35 degrees put it back there not going to shorten its life by running optimal timing ..peaks hp at 6300 I'd be shifting at 6500 Jetting will be lean if running a hood scoop pressurising the intake tract .up jet 2 and see
Keep in mind that pumping a higher octane fuel thru your motor then what it needs to not detonate shaves off power more then you think!
