Was at track (Cecil) last weekend and got down to 3 cars in 10.00 and lost. Put car on trailer and hopped off and rolled my ankle big time....heard a POP. On the ground in pain for a bit.... Then driving home a deer runs into side of my mint 2000 conv van with 42K on it. Good sized dent in door and fiberglass running board cracked. Then on monday I call in for my jury duty which is all month! And yes they pick me and I had to serve on a case and still on call for rest of month! Can barely walk but was hoping it would heal enough to run at Quaker but may get called again for jury duty on that friday and not worth it just to drive there saturday......
With a foot like that you should be able to get out of Jury Duty . Call them up and send them a picture .
I have weak ankles and my daughter had surgery after she kept blowing out her ankle. I have that same picture of my ankle. Did your toes turn purple and green from all the settled blood? If it got me out of jury duty, I think I'd go see a doc. This was after the swelling went down a little.
Yup....similar deal. I have purple on side below ankle joint and above toes it is yellow on it's way to black and blue I suspect. I can't put weight on it today for first day and hobble around. I use my left foot on brake to race so it will be a while before I can put pressure on it (manual brakes). I think another week and I'll be back to normal....as good as that was....as long as I don't roll it again. Stepped on an extension cord plug yesterday and set me back some. Have to hobble to store as cats are out of food and pissed off!
Hope you're back to normal soon but, I would have had an X-ray done to make sure there was no more damage than just a dislocation.
I can relate to weak ankles. Was a runner for many years loved it but ankles never got stronger. After so many sprains since I can remember, the pain was so bad I finally had to get surgery. They welded it up about 3 years ago. It was bone on bone. I know your pain, wishing you a fast recovery Fernando
THX Fernando...Yeah not my first ankle rodeo.....worst was on an inclined driveway and my sister had put hose across it and I was going up and down working on my 67 Riv....rolled ankle on hose and was done for.....I wonder if you repeatedly roll same ankle it never fully recovers. I avoid docs and surgery all I can.....
I know I did, from what the Dr said that I had stretched that tendon so much and often that it got weaker. Fernando
My daughter's X-rays showed bone fragments from her previous sprains. She had the surgery but it was to strengthen it, not fuse it. I have no idea what mine look like and mine always seem to heal up just fine. They seem stronger after I get over being afraid to do it again. A week after my sprain it was still VERY sore and tender but oddly enough, pushing the clutch didn't bother me.
I grew up on ice skates, and my ankles have been bullet proof. On the other hand, my knees are crap. I won't share pictures ;~) That looks nasty and I am with Ray on the X-ray just to be sure.
I can relate... My cats remind me of a scene from The Godfather on those occasions when I am late feeding them. Surely, you have found dead mice left for you, right? Try dead squirrels or rats; sometimes with the head removed! No they aren't teling me that they think I need to eat and they can provide sustenance; They are giving me a WARNING: Feed us, or ELSE. They routinely thump aghainst the door if I am not prompt enough with their food. Olivia, Romeo, and Mr. Grey? No, they are the Three Assassins. I've seen them team up and one keeps the victim's attention, while another blindsides said victim. Be forewarned! (Also, If I ever come up missing, search for 3 mischievous cats...)
...X3 on getting x-ray to be sure no serious injury. Injuries will return to haunt you in old age. L3/L4 and L4/L5 for rt side foot drop which I was able to overcome for most of my adult life, and rt ankle injury that would have shattered ankle had I not been wearing jump boots, have in old age, combined to leave me with a serious limp...
