So sorry to hear this. Bruno was da Man and will be sorely missed. May his memory forever be a blessing.
I always enjoyed his posts... so much knowledge and experience. As I watch my 81 year old mom struggle with her health - and hospitals - and rehab facilities - I am not sure which way is better, a quick or a long goodbye. Ultimately, they both suck for those that care. Please take care of yourself, Larry - it's not an easy time and the shock is real.
Condolences to his family as well. I did meet him briefly once in Jan 2013 when I bought a complete rear from Stacy. Occasionally bought a few small parts from him as well. He was truly a Buick legend! RIP. UticaGeoff
RIP Bruno. So sad to hear this. Always loved to sit at Cecil and BG and just BS with him Our condolences to the family.
What a seriously blow to our community! Bruno was a true gentlemen and always ready to help with parts and knowledge. RIP. So sad to hear this.
Sad news. R.I.P. Bruno. This community and I'm sure many others has lost a legend and a good man. My condolences to his family.
Didnt know him well. Only met a few times at different events. What first comes to mind was the time I nearly ran him over at Piedmont. He had decided to take a nap on the ground in the shade in my pit. Came back from my run and saw him there at the last second. Later we had a laugh about it. He will be missed in our community.
So sorry to hear. What a class act. I finally met you guys at the Nats this year, when Bruno brought me some engine pieces I was searching for. I know he will truly be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
I met Bruno when I was 17 or 18. I had a 71 GS350 in bittersweet mist I threw a 430 in. At the time he was about 48. I remember the first time going to his house for parts. Out front in the street were not one, but two 70 Stage 1 convertibles. I was even thinner back then so Bruno's wife, Stephanie would always sit me down and feed me. Back then, Bruno was in his prime. He just got the race car. He built a big garage. He was churning out 455's. He had an "in" at a local Buick parts dept so he was constantly stocked up with NOS parts. He was always parting out cars. You name it, Bruno had it. NOS quarters, fenders, core supports....Even to this day, at 56 years old, I still call Stephanie, "Mrs D". We became fast friends and I'm lucky to say we've been friends ever since. We would always laugh at the fact that his father was born in 1908 and my father was born in 1913 yet we had 31 years between us. I'm going to miss him very much. The Bellmore cruise night on Fridays usnt going to be the same without him. It's tough to wrap my head around that he's gone. Godspeed my friend. We'll see each other again
Talked to him only once and him and his wife were something else on the phone....whish I could have gotten up there to meet him....great fella he was
My condolences to Bruno’s family. I bought numerous parts from Bruno and he was always so easy to deal with. A true gentleman and Buick legend. He will be missed.
Bruno would always laugh telling me the story about his sons friend who had a camaro. Kid raced Bruno and Bruno would always beat the guy he was racing by just enough. He never wanted to show how fast his car was. So the kid goes to the local performance parts store and buys a bunch of go fast parts. Comes back and wants to race the old man again. Bruno admitted the car was faster but once again, Bruno beats him by just enough. The poor kid must of dumped all kinds of money in that camaro and every time the kid walked away scratching his head wondering why his car wasn't any faster...Bruno just chuckled after every race.. Bruno's favorite place to hunt for victims back in the day was a stretch of 106 by the firehouse. One night he was out in one of his GS's. He gets pulled over for drag racing. Cop walks up to the car and Bruno tells the cop in his Italian accent that he borrowed his son's car to go get milk and he stepped on the gas and didn't know what happened. Cop bought the BS hook line and sinker. Cop tells Bruno to just bring the car back home carefully and give the keys back to his son. Good times ....
Geez, what a shock and terrible news. Although I didn't know him as well as some of you, I had the pleasure of spending some time with him on several occassions and it was always a treat. He was the ultimate Buick guy who took a lot of pride in his cars and his vegetable garden. He will be sorely missed.
