Good morning, All, I am putting back together a 1970 GS with Trim 175 and I have a question on the wind lace for the windows. What color will be correct for the front, rear, and sides windows? Front and rear they offer in many colors. Should they be Pearl White as well? The reason I ask is, I have only found they offer the sides in black. Thanks.
I'm trying to find windlace in metallic red. Ogpi and Legendary have discontinued this color. Anyone have any other vendors?
National Parts Depot carries the pinch-on windlace in red (WL-B) and maroon (WL-BB). Perhaps you could get one of these and some correct spray dye... I successfully used the correct colors on making my 1972 Skark have the correct color interior components using their paints and dyes; I would NEVER have been able to do that on my 1971 Skylark Custom convertible, as there were so many components in different shades for "Sandalwood" interiors. Just be sure to get the correct item for the component; Different materials call for different products, and can react adversely to the material.
So the “windlass” is the moulding on top by the headliner? For some reason I was thinking the piping on the seats…duh
Windlace is the interior colored flexible rubber that covers the seam around your door jamb. Starts at the fisher body plate and goes up to the a pillar in the front and to the bottom of the rear quarter glass in the back.
