(Sandpiper Beige) And NO this car is off limits to Salem:grin: The convertible gets to make that trip again. Even though I have done ZERO work on that car in the last year....it'll still get the royal quarter mile treatment a couple times.

I thought I did, but the tube in the port on the box fell out of place and messed up he acoustics, so it sounded like I blew the amp, but I just put the tube back and fired it back up...perfect!
Truthfully, I've been too nervous to push this car that hard. I did a one-wheel-peel in the rain when I bought it, but that is as far as I've gone with it.
I don't want to see the newly waxed/painted/detailed/waxed/rubbed/touched up/waxed/rubbed/restored/nos/degreased/painted 4-door.. I want to see the 15.05 centurion warm some rubber when it goes to town for the next event. To rub 5/100 of the 1/4 mile time... Run no air filter at all/lower air pressure in rear tires/raise air pressure in front tires.. ? You've already tuned the shift points, that should be worth something?
Like this?? I ran it at Salem last year after I had made all the transmission changes, and anything else I had done...and still only managed a 15.05 ....so maybe if the weather is good this year, I can squeeze out a 14:beer
That's better!!! Now I want to see a newly taken photo with a 14.97 under it! - - - I got some of the dupli-color paint and thought I'd give it a try. I had some old valve covers laying around that were in need of some paint; they had some bare metal spots and some paint left on them after I scrubbed them real good. I then started painting them with thin layers of the dh1608 red engine paint, but it didn't cover very well. You had to go over it many times to cover the bare metal spots, and it started to lift up some old paint in one area. I finished them anyway and got some clearcoat to add on there today. It said that you had to apply the clear coat within one hour of painting, otherwise you should wait seven days for the paint to cure first, then add the clear coat. Well, I waited 24h so we'll see how this turns out. I'm sure they'll come out fine, otherwise it was more of just something to do. Next time I will use the dupli-color primer though just to avoid the need of so many leyers of red. The red is graded to 1200 degrees, while the clear coat and the primer is only 500 degrees. But the engine doesn't reach 500 degrees so the primer should be ok to use you would think? Kimson, Whenever I paint a part for my buick I remove any and all old grease, oil, dirt, paint etc. Then you know the paint will be good because your starting with a good base. The 7 days to cure I never read on my can, but I really didnt read it at all. I waited about 2 hours till I touched the parts, usually to move them and then they would sit for a few days. Same with clear coat. The onyl problem I had is a fly landed on the fresh black base coat and got stuck and died. I had to carefully remove it. :laugh: Also you never need to "bake" the parts, that is heating them up so the paint cures properly. Just run the engine like you normally would and that does the job. No the engine won't be 500*. I want some porgress pics of the 17.21 Centurion, updates? o No:
ou: There's always something... The Centurion is doing well after I finally managed to get my ass in gear again and recurve the distributor. It will have to show its true colors on Saturday when we're off to the track again The black car took most of my time to just to have it running when it was around so it feels better now that it's gone. I wish I could have kept it, but not with all that hassle. I'll post a few pics when I'm back from http://ratfinkparty.com/ should be fun.. There's also the big GM show on Sunday, but I'm actually more interested in the custom and track stuff, so I might only do that one on Saturday.
Ok guys - I came home with a bronze award last night! Kimson - I ran into your friend Benjamin...he was drooling on my core support:laugh: Lots of compliments from folks with the car this past week! I'm a happy guy...except for having to go back to work this week. One of my service guys called in sick this morning, and Jon (business partner) was a few hours late getting back from Alaska today. It was a fiasco this morning, for sure. Welcome back, Me!:spank: Anyway, this may be as far as I go with this car. It's a difficult decision for me to continue putting money into this car when I know it'll never come close to what I have invested in it. Thoughts of selling and finding a nice 2 door Centurion are running through my head.
