ld amps huh....ADS power plate 120..ADS 650.6 few older kenwood amps i have quite the collection myself my current amp is the hifonics brutus 1205D it slams but still need more power!!!
Been in the shop working on mine. My head unit is a 7977, so it's similar to yours. The old DEI sounds pretty good. It looks like I pulled it from the ocean, but it works great.
Linear Power is one of the cleanest amps ever made! I have had a couple and loved them. Tough to feed that class A power, but if you feed it you will smile.
Hey Al, your Alpine got an AI-NET input? I am trying to use my input for my Ipod. I bought a RCA to AI-Net adapter and plugged the Ipod into it but can't access that aux. input. I can't find the owners manual. Leave it to Alpine. All my other units just have RCA inputs for the aux.
Pooods.. Have you looked here? I don't know your model number, so I can't go any further... http://www.stylestandard.net/oswego/Rooms/FrameMacro
Geesh bo mention of Soundstream yet? I'll try to post a pic of my 18 year old d-200 (100x2). There IS a reason I've never let 'er go. AQlso miss my old "red top 225 and 250 HCCA's STABLE TO 1/2 ohm.!!!!!!!!. My ol' Regal had an Audio Control EQL(?) in a custom console over the hump w/ switches for ea. amp (in case I was just gonna go for just spl)
You have excellent taste in head units! That is the one I wanted to use but becauce of the bright face it would not look right in my Century. The high preamp voltages and preamp only makes this a real hit! All the reviews have thumbs up and there hard to come by becuase of being a first class comp ready HU. I right now have three Alpine CDA 7878 head units and I'm hooked on Alpine because of the SQ!!!! AL.
Well, I figured out the aux. input. I had to go into setup and turn it on. Never seen a HU like that before. I have learned something. I will never be too old to have a loud system. I love it.
Talk about old school, I remember all those amps... I've got 2 a/d/s p640 Power plates, and Infinity Component speakers for front and back waiting to be installed in my 71 Lark.
I just traded my new Rockford Fosgate Power T1's tonight for the older Power HX2's. I got four for two. I played the new T1's for 20 mins and had one come apart. The magnet separated somehow. The shop says this has happened to a few others so far. That sucks! I will go back in years and gain in quality. Glad it was under warranty!! Now it's time for a 71 Riv to thump. I must be turning back the clock.
infinity is a very good brand, alpine also. for amps, i have a lanzar 800 (not very good) to 2 RF 12's, old scool ones. i had a Soundstorm amp hooked to a dual 10", the amp made the sub sound suprisingly good, so now i putting in 5 audiobahn 12's hooked to 6000 watts of soundstorm power, which needs a second battery, well see how it sounds. unfortunately the car didnt have enough room for a large box, so im about a cubic foot short on airspace, well see how it goes.
wow, there are actually car audio enthusiasts on here... im currently running a hifonics bx2005d BTW
I've been on here for several years and finally got a thread rolling on car audio! The other threads met an untimely death.
I yself have been into car audio for about 15 years installed many systems the setup in my isuzu hit a 144.2 in 2005 with 2 15" directed audio DVC's and a old kicker zr 360 sti hsve the same subs but now with a hifonics brutus 1205D still don't think it's loud enough!!!:TU:
