The Gopher State Chapter of the BCA will once again be sponsoring their annual Spring Extravaganza Sunday May 6th at the MN State Fairgrounds. http://gopherstatebuick.org/springshow/ Anyone know where the Buicks will be parked? Can we pick a side street and get a bunch of us parked together? Here's a map of the fairgrounds http://www.mnstatefair.org/pages/fairgrounds_map.html I'll be there, but don't quite know what I'll be driving yet. Who else is going and what'cha gonna be bringin? I'll know more as the week progresses.
Ken, I will be there with my 70 stage1 GSX clone. I will have it up for sale. If there's rain in the forcast i will be driving something else.
Buicks always get preferred parking right near the Registration tent. You'll be parked pretty much on Lee & Cooper on Machinery Hill. Stop by on Saturday if you are in town then to pick up your goody bag and get preregistred so you can just drive in on Sunday. Plus you can say hello to at least one other v8board member at registration. Hope to see everyone at the show!
Sorry, won't be able to make it down on Saturday. It will be an early SUnday morning drive from Duluth for us. I think we will try and park over on Cooper, if I remember right they fill Lee first. This way we have a chance of parking next to each other for the all important Buick BS session! Bring your lawn chair!
If there are any interested parties. I will have my 1972 Buick GS convertible down there for your viewing. It is listed here on the V8 board, along with the BPG board. here is the link for V8 board. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=113631 :beers2:
I'm going to try to make it, but it won't be with the Buick....I'm hopeing by the end of the season she'll be ready to rock and roll! Any specific place to meet? Time?
What time do the gates open? I'm guessing we'll be hitting the Cities about 8AM or so and will try to enter via Dan Patch and Randall as we won't be pre-registered. Is it $15 or $20 at the gate to get your car in? I'll be driving my '69 GS California and my brother will have his '72 GS convertible. I think we will try to park on Cooper near the intersection with Lee. We'll probably walk the swap space early then kick back near the cars and take in some of the sights. We could just pick a time, say like 11AM and anyone who is there could stop by for a BS session. How's that sound, intersection of Cooper and Lee at 11AM?
Ken, it is $15 to get the car in for the show and that includes admission for the driver and a passenger.
The forecast for Sunday doesn't look very good, over 50% chance of thunderstorms. Hmmm, pondering whether to still make the 2.5hr drive down.
Well We decided we're going to come down. Hopefully the rain will hold off until noon! We plan on getting there about 8:30, maybe we'll see a few of you there!
Thanks to everyone who came out for the show and especially everyone who drove a aways to come. We really appreciated everyone who turned out and hope you enjoyed the show and didn't get blown away! Hopefully we will have better weather next year and hope to see everyone again, thanks for saying hello at the registration tent. Btw, one of you McMillan boys won a plaque. I cannot remember who but can check on it and figure out a way to send it up to the Northern Riviera way up dere.
Wow, one of us won a plaque. We were at the bar by 11:30am. How did that happen o No: Thank you for the information Kris. Let us know what or where or who we should contact. my cell number is 1.218.348.9047 I also hope next year is alot nicer. It was warmer in Duluth then in St. Paul. Had a great time hangin out with some fellow Buick fans. Thanks again for the information Kris
It was nice to meet you Kris! Must have been Brian M that won the plaque, I saw several people voting for his convertible while we were there. Brian, you should add that to your for sale ad, recent plaque winner after a 150 mile drive and no detailing! I'm blaming being at the bar by 11:30AM on Chris and Randy! Ya, it was all their fault! Brian Boche, you, and I were coerced into joining them! Yes, it would have been better with nicer weather, but it was still great to meet new people and shoot the Buick breeze!
How is the bar my fault, Randy doesn't even drink:laugh: If I remember right we followed YOU to that bar, Mongo only pawn in game of life..:beer I have your beer waiting for you. If you're really nice to me, we can get a little captain in us.:bla: BTW That hostess at the Ol' Chicago has a nice pirate outfit to wear with that Thong:kodak:
Hey Brian, why don't we drive your convert down to Chris' house REAL early June 2nd, load up the beer, and maybe Chris too, then head down to Bruce and Shirl's party in Iowa! Now that would be a road trip! Top down and cruisin!
