Several years ago I posted a thread hoping to be able to adopt a son or daughter. We did foster care on and off for 6+ years and 20 children. The Lord smiled on us and my wife and I adopted a 6 year old girl that we have fostered for over the last year. She was in the system over 1800 days and is very happy to be with us. She really likes the Wildcat, too. So many times we ask for help from above and forget to say thanks when are prayers are answered. I am 51 and never thought I'd be a dad.
You’re good people for doing that. Congratulations, and thank you. All children deserve families. Patrick
Awesome right there! Not that it matters, but she kinda shares your nose and face. She's a cutie, you....well
Thanks. The similarity in looks was uncanny. The Lord really picked a perfect girl for us. My wife asked if I was really working late in the summer of 2010 . One good part is that we have come to know the birth mother, who signed her over to us, and we regularly update her on our life. When our girl turns 18 we will give her the option to contact her birth mother if she wants too.
Congrats! I was adopted and am always excited to see others getting their chance at a stable family life.
At times like these, I wish instead of a "like" we had a "love" button to push. If it weren't for a loving couple like You and your Wife, I may not have had the home I grew up in. May God Bless You and Your Family.
Congratulations. I was adopted and lucky enough to grow up in a wonderful home. Doesn't always work out that way. Sometimes personalities don't mesh or the kid is angry. Parents never really talked about it so I was left to reason it all out on my own @ 9 y/o when I found out m/l by mistake. Didn't know any history (do now) but realized I was in a good place & safe which was all I could really ask for. Lucky little girl.
Thanks. She is our pride and joy. Even though she has lived with us for over a year I still sometimes stop in late at night to check on her and say a prayer of thanks.
