This is Max, he's a 4 year old Collie, of all our dogs, he's the one that likes hanging out with "Dad" in the garage, the one with the longest coat, and if he gets glopped up, I get yelled at More than once hes walked under the GS while I was wrenching
Zoe Bella, our 7 year old Yorkie. She doesn't stay out in the shop much. She prefers to sit and watch for UPS and Fed Ex and inspect the deliveries.
If I go out to the barn or even attached garage and don't take Hemingway with me, he will sit at the door crying until I'll come back or he gets let out. I call him "hemor" for short cause he's always stuck to my butt....
This is Chopper, aka Chops, Chop chop, Chomper, or Choppy Nuts. He goes pretty much everywhere I go and always has to be in my F100 no matter if I'm just cleaning the wheels. He's got no idea he's small....
That's a great looking pup! I grew up around Dobermans (my dad's best friend/band mate of many years always had 2 of them and they left an impression on me). When we bought our house with a large backyard I decided the time was right to add one to our family. We found Hemingway in a shelter, he was 2 years old and his owner had failing health and couldnt care for him, with no family to take him he took him to the shelter. He's been a good dog (sans a fairly severe i.e. EXPENSIVE health issue, but he's all good now). But make sure you're familiar with Dober's and their traits, I kid you not, they are all cut from the same cloth! They're known as "velcro dogs" and man, thats an understatement! They want to be around their people ALL the time. But they are easy to train. Hemi's big for the breed (hangs around 102 pounds and very tall), but he's as docile as they come. He goes to Lowes with me a lot and the reactions are hilarious. People either go crazy over him and he gets boatloads of attention (which he's perfectly happy about), or they see us come around the corner of the aisle and run for their lives. Haha. With the new addition to the family (baby) keeping us busy, we've said we're taking a break from big dogs (we have a matching black and rust Min Pin also, makes for a funny pair), but I dont think our home would feel right without a doberman keeping watch.....
My Nix...He was dumped out along the Interstate and I came along with my Beetle at the right time. We had some health issues at first, but I believe they are behind us now..He's also my copilot on some trips. He likes to hang out in the garage.
Lowe's has a pet friendly policy. Leashed (well behaved) dogs are welcome. Next time you're there, look at the outer entrance doors, there will be a sign stating as much. There may be exceptions to the rule, but I know most have that. He goes with me to tractor supply a lot too, they are the same way. Tractor supply even gives out treats to their four legged visitors!
