Hello, I have a 1965 Riviera that is gold in color. I have disassembled the car and it looks like it came from the factory this color. I have looked for a build sheet on the car, but I have not located one. The Paint Code on the trim tag has a Star on it. Did Buick use Pontiac colors on a special ordered car. Tiger Gold looks close. Thanks Dave
It looks like Sahara Mist to me. It seems that early built Rivs mostly have the star, if it was a special order color it would have had the star and SCO, the star was not seen on later 65 Rivs, last I heard they had yet to figure out what and why the star was there, but it was there on lots of regular off the line examples. It's been theorized that maybe cars that were dealer ordered for inventory didn't have them and ones that customer ordered did, but that had yet to been proven t

They all used the same colors for the years but used a different name. Heres where I like to go to cross reference colors and or years. Click on the GM paint codes and it will take you to all the makes and models that color was used on along with the years. Awesome site. Just google 1967 paint codes and it will also take it to you. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?model=Buick&year=1967&con=oy&rows=50
^ There were commonly a few brand-unique colors in a given year, but the bulk of Chev-Ponti-Olds-Buick used the same palette. Cadillac had their own colors.
