I'll be moving soon, so downsizing and letting go of some of my larger items. Fridge is a 50's Westinghouse, works great, looks cool. I used it in the garage for beer. I would put a new seal on the door at some point but works good now. Who needs this in their life? Asking 300.00 located near Green Bay WI. I have a small and low trailer and am always down in the Janesville and Milwaukee area on weekends. pulaski727@outlook.com or 920.621.1276
If you were in Canada this would be in my garage already no jokes about that! Whoever gets this is getting an awesome deal. GLWS
I have a 40s westinghouse that my grandparents bought new. It was their main fridge and then their basement fridge when they moved. It remained there until after they died. When my aunt sold the house, I got the fridge. I was unplugged for about 7 yrs when I got it, put it in my garage, plugged it in and has been working ever since. I'm sure my dad, who was an appliance repairman, maintaining it until he died had something to do with the longevity of the fridge. Anyhow....bitchin fridge...glws!!
First house we bought when we got married was built in 1932 and we bought it off the original owners estate. The house was a beautiful time capsule, Gumwood french doors, stained leaded glass etc, and had one of these in it, late 40's Westinghouse with a pink interior. Ran like a champ so we kept it for several years, it's undoing was a door hinge that I bent when trying to remove it to redo the hardwood floors in the kitchen. Could not get the seal right so had to buy a new one. Missed it, but without it my entire electric bill went down 40% the next month.......
I'm in Chicago and I'm very tempted. But I don't want to even think what my electric bill would be if I stuck it into my garage.
I need a reason to hit Grebe's in Milwaukee! Possibly could come to GB area if needed. Working with a guy up that way for some Pontiac door panels. Need to finish things up with him next week. What's your time line to get it out the door? In fairness to everyone else - only inline after all others.
Swing by North Carolina when you are in the neighborhood (lol)and I will swap ya a clean StarWars air cleaner top for it : ) I actually tried to find a transporter tonight from Green Bay to Matthews,NC 28104 that might have room on a run but must not have been using correct search words. Well, off to bed for me
You want it I can get it to you for a song. I do logistics for a living and have distribution centers, customers and friends in NC and other areas Happy to help a friend.
I have a 1940's "Coldspot" (Sears) and it works just like new. It was my parents and was in my house when I was growing up. I refurbished it "cosmetically" only and it's used for beer and soft drinks in my shop. It has not increased my electric bill at all since I plugged it in a few years ago. I replaced a small apartment sized modern fridge with this one. I'm on the "monthly average" billing plan (12 months totaled and divided by 12), so if it were to cost a lot to run I would have definitely seen a monthly increase. If I didn't have mine already I'd jump on this...… especially being only 30 or so miles away!
Morning Brett, sent an email last night requesting interior pictures of the icebox, racks & the seal that was mentioned needing replacement. Steve has kindly offered to assist with logistics from previous posts. Regards, Fritz
I received an email this morning from Fritz, I'll post some additional pics, I should have all the drawers and racks, even the butter tray I believe.
Also, I did not notice any difference in my electric bill and I usually ran it in the summer only when I was in the garage the most.
