I'm trying a winter project this year. My 70GS has been Glacier White since 1986 (or before). I've wanted to know what the Burnished Saddle paint and Dark Gold vinyl would look like, so I bought 1:18 model and some color matched paints. I masked off the top and should get a coat of paint or two on tonight. Here is the "before" shot.
It will be a few years before I can get the car painted and the top installed, but my dark gold top is here.
Back in "the day", each GM Division had at least one exclusive color beyond the group palette of colors shared (often with different names) .... Cadillac was diferent as it had almost all exclusive paint colors and names. Anyway, in the very late '60's to '70, Buick's exclusive color was the Burnished Saddle and they rally pushed the color promotionally. It has some gold/bronze undertones which shimmers differently in light compared to the other Divisions' metallic browns.
Also, and yo'd have to confirm this, but I recall reading somewhere that the gold color vinyl roof was stopped sometime in 1970 during the production run. So, if your car has a gold top, it might be one of the fewer that did.
