I swore that I wasn't going to buy anymore diecast cars and then I had to go to CVS Pharmacy yesterday and I couldn't resist. They had all kinds of 60's & 70's 1:24 scale muscle cars. I grabbed these four but saw 6 or 8 more that I wanted. The GSX is a non-Stage 1 4 speed!
They had many more that I wanted but at $12 a piece, I had to be selective. They had several nice Mopars & Fords plus a nice SS Chevelle. I'll get more on my next trip...
A cute story, at least I think so. I was at the store the other day and I saw a blue GSX for $3.99. I was going to get it for my grandson. As I was standing in the checkout line I decided I wanted it. So I went back to the toy aisle and got him a frisbee that was supposed to bounce. I gave him the frisbee yesterday. It didn't bounce like it said it would. He said to me, Papa, I don't really like this present. I said to him, what would you like. He said the blue Buick sitting on your computer table. So I got the scissors out and cut it out of the package and handed it to him. He gave me a big hug and then started to walk inside the house. I said, where are you going. He said, this is an inside toy! He had a smile on his face, and I had a smile on my face. The end
Nice Score! My Rite Aide carries these 1:24 scale die casts but have yet to see these models.. CVS recently also. Now for sure i'm going to look. About 5 or more years ago alot of members have to remember when Stop & Shop had all kinds of HotWheels of GSX's, GTO's SS's still for only $1 to $1.19. I was a kid in toy store again. They did have silly colors and stripes as there made to custom cars. I didn't see them holding any value like the original oldie, so I rubbed of the stripes etc. and colored in the grills and exhaust and gas tank on most of them. Yes I do stupid things..
