I'm seriously thinking about the annular booster double pumper. The quick fuel is super expensive though.

TB EFI systems have gotten a lot more affordable, I know that you've mentioned budget is tight but this could be an option if you don't end up buying another carb right away! Lot's of tunability they say . . .

They all are. Like I mentioned to you, Holley sells refurbished carbs that are basically brand new from time to time. 90 day warranty. I run one, 830 H.P. annulars, no choke or vacuum provisions, but an $850 carb for 5 bills. I like it. My 850 Speed Demon worked well but didn't have 4 corner idle or the idle Eze feature. Older model. I should have kept that one too.
The spare 750 Holley I have is a dialed carb. Not sure I want to let go of it.:)

    You'll get there eventually. ;)
Thought I sent you a link for a brawler refurbished?

It is true that my budget on the car was essentially beyond what I ever intended to spend with the motor project. But I needed a carb to match my engine build. I was a fool for ever thinking the edelbrock was a good choice. Money is tight mainly because I own and operate a gutter business that I started from scratch 5 years ago and I pretty much bring nothing in during the winter except partial unemployment and occasional work on the nice days. I have been used to this for the last few years and am typically a cautious spender through the winter. After five years of working tirelessly and reinvesting everything in to the business and eight years without any muscle cars I finally bought another car in April. the one I'm currently working on. I knew by buying a project car I would be dumping thousands of dollars into it and was prepared for that to some extent. I passed up many restored cars in the $20,000 range that wouldn't have needed anything. That is not the route that I wanted to go. I know I had lots of people suggesting lots of different things to me lately and if I did everything I would be spending thousands more. All of those things will come eventually but I am 100% convinced that the carburetor that I'm currently running will never work properly on my car. So today I called holley, I spent some time with them on the phone and I also did some research and I decided on the carburetor in the link and I purchased it. I read the article larry posted and many real life reviews where people were extremely satisfied with 4150 style carb with annualar boosters. Summit Racing had ONE of these carburetors left and Holley was clear out. said they didn't even know and they would get them again. they are hand built and manufactured in the United States of America. I know it's not an out-of-the-box carburetor maybe it will be for me. I understand that it will most likely need tuning.

Annular boosters are supposed to help make more low end torque and throttle response which should help me tremendously with my hwy gears. Once tax time rolls around I will probably get an AFR gauge immediately and all new exhaust, stall later this year.

My previous post goes into the final decision I made to go ahead and make the purchase. I bought it.

That is a nice carb you can't go wrong with that one, has good features with more tunability.

You'll be happy with it money well spent.

Just remember, since you have that 256 gear It will take longer for the car and the carb to catch up with each other so you may have to go with a smaller shooter with that low gear as it could flood some when you stomp it. you will just have to see when you get it on, This will be interesting.

If you go through the internet and read what other people have to say about these carbs like on some of the other message boards or summit reviews. there are lots of guys who switched from downleg Booster 4150 to annular booster style 4150 and couldn't believe the difference it made.

I probably read about this a long time ago heck I have 2 Holley books I should have known this a long time ago. Probably did and wouldn't have thought about it either until you had all this trouble with your carb and started the conversation about this.

So Hey one for you on getting this out there we all learned something from this. LOL.

Do you have a pic of your carb setup? I have no idea what I need to buy to hook this thing up. Do I need to buy the little ball stud that the throttle cable connects to? One was included with my edelbrock but may not interchange. I'm still looking at what dual feed line would be best. 6 an fittings is what I prefer but I'm okay with using hose clamps if it looks clean.

Are you guys both running carb spacers? What's the advantage and is there any clearance issues if I don't run a spacer

is there a built in filter on the Holley/quickfuel I'd like to use a filter with an fittings and attach it right to the dual feed but I'm afraid itll be way past the front of the intake.

I believe I can thread my current filter right into the end of this one. Any pics of your fuel line set ups would be appreciated.
