Can someone confirm the year of the intake with part # B1386003E and the correct part # for the choke that fits the intake. Thanks for your help.
1969 400-430 intake manifold. Can't help with the choke thermostat. One option is this, https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...n-kits-for-1968-1974-buick-quadrajets.302450/
Thanks Larry & David for your info. The manifold , a # 7029240 Quadra Jet, along with a set of heads ,and exaust manifolds were in the trunk of a one owner 1973 G S 4 spd car i bought that the original 455 motor was modified . Heads , were changed , a b4b intake added, Holly carb added, headers installed . This car was built in Freemont Calif and may have had the smog equipment installed , and the owner my guess may have modified the motor to delete it. Interesting that the spare parts i have show as a 1969 430 motor. as you both have indicated. I will check the No.s on the heads and check back later if you could help with their identification. We were thinking of changing the motor back to stock with the parts we have.
The only real difference between a 400, 430, and 455 is the bore size. Externally, they are the same. check the block casting number behind the intake,
I'd confirm that you actually have a 455 in there. Of course maybe they swapped the 455 heads to the earlier "Big Port" models. I don't know if the '69s were considered BP though.
The block casting No. , is it visible at the back of the motor behind the intake or exactly where? I thought the No. was stamped on the block visible next to the head, passenger side, Thanks everyone for your info. Will figure this out with your help. Will get head and block #'s
