Does this lift strap stay with the motor?

I call this a lift strap and see it on many 350/455 engines still. So, does it come with all the motors or only some? And, is it usually removed after engine is installed or left on? Which intake bolt does it go on?

Second bolt on passenger side next to the valve cover bolt.

I think they often get tossed out the first time the intake bolts are removed..

Every engine got one. This is how they lifted the motor at the engine plant and probably on arrival at Buick final assembly plant. It was used along with the loop at the rear of the block. There are some pictures floating around of assembled blocks at the plant hanging by these. The loop should be outboard with the bolt inboard. It can be tough to get right as it wants to turn as you torque the bolt. You kind of need to anticipate where it will end up.
