Are you a Pontiac fan too? Have you attended the event before? It sure seems like a great event. I've never been to it and I'd sure like to go this year.

I don't usually mention it here on the Buick board but we have several GTOs and I sure do like them. My dad has owned his '66 GTO for almost 49 years, I've had my '69 GTO for 32 years (it was my first car when I got it at age 15), and we bought my mom's '67 conv. about 28 years ago.

Yes i am a fan! Me and my dad have gone the last i wanna say 7 years or so (exception being last year) one of the if not the biggest pontiac event in the world. Always a great weekend! we participate in the car show in the "SP" class for lemans/ tempest, with our Custom S convertible. If you have the chance come on up and bring the GTO's! Im hoping there is a good turn out this year

My Dad's first car was a dark blue/black interior '66 4 speed but just a 4 barrel. He got it his senior year in high school in '73. I've only seen one pic of it, but it looked period cool with the torq-thrust fatties on back and cragar skinnies up front :)

That is a great looking '69! The Custom S convertible is rarely seen and is so much more rare than a '69 GTO convertible.

I currently own a '69 Custom S as well but it's a 4-door hardtop parts car. It was 350-2, TH400, PS, PDB, A/C and rally gauges. I bought it to get the mint, rust free radiator core support but it has continued to offer up many other parts that we have used during the restoration of my '69 GTO.

I'm going to mention to my family that I think we need to go to the Ames event this year and try to get it locked onto our calendar before something else blocks it.

Hope you can make it! Are you bringing a car or just yourself? Either works lol :D
Its a great event, in past years saturday has been always been the busier of the two days, sunday is usually packed as well. Overall a great time especially if the weather is nice

Awesome! The swap meet is usually pretty good size. Not sure how the friday swap meet looks ( as me and dad usually get there early saturday morning). Saturday swap meet usually has quite a few vendors with tons of parts. We walk through and look at stuff for dads car if we can find anything. They also usually have an ames pontiac parts trailer on the grounds as well. Hopefully you can find the stuff you are looking for. What are you restoring?

    AMES BUYS PERFORMANCE YEARS!

Ames Performance is proud to announce it's new acquisition of Performance Years Pontiac!

That's right! By the time you have a chance to read this, the merger between the two most profound, ALL Pontiac restoration companies will be complete. Over the past few months, PY owner Chris Casperson has been working diligently with Ames owners Kevin Beal and Don Emery to discuss the future of both companies within the industry. A decision was reached, that PY would better serve the wholesale side of the industry leaving the retail to Ames Performance.

PY, a distinguished supplier in the industry, will now focus solely on manufacturing desirable Pontiac reproductions under the name Max Performance. Ames will now be the only, exclusive one stop shop for Pontiac restoration needs. It was agreed, by both parties, that this was the best decision to support the entire classic Pontiac restoration hobby. One thing for sure is we will continue to give our customers the best Ames experience possible with our high level of customer service, quality parts and fair pricing.

Thank you for your continued support,

    The Ames Team

With only a month left to go to get ready for the pontiac nationals, dad texts me last saturday morning and sends me this: lhAZMk38-402113864.jpeg

Im not sure how it happened but a sudsy brush that dad bought to clean the trailer tipped over and nailed this fender. A rubber piece on the brush hit the fender and dented it. The brush only had 2-1/2ft if that between the brush and the car. Also, it was leaning at a 75° angle the opposite from the car. So in very confused on how this happened, but i digress. Now we are in an all out thrash to try and find someone to come to the house for the paintless dent repair
