1970 GS 455 - Shroud Restoration

    I'm searching for tips on how to professionally restore a fan shroud to get as close to the factory finish and texture as possible. Rather than simply refinishing it using low gloss black that I have seen on some show cars, I'm wanting to replicate the grayish look they had when new.

    Any ideas on how to properly restore the shroud would be appreciated.

    Talk to Dave Tumas from the board. He does amazing work and I believe he could give you some great advice on how to do yours.

    This is from Duane's 69 Motion restoration thread. I believe he said it ran through a high pressure parts cleaner with mild caustic cleaner and it removed all the paint. I wish I could do the same for mine.

    Wallypep here on the board is another guy who's done a few shroud restorations and also given TPP shrouds the correct finish.

    That is a good looking shroud that Duane has.
