I'll have to dig up what insulators I used when I re-did the rear-end suspension, but they were not the Ford Galaxie 500 models - actually felt rather thin. Still Moog, though.

There are two 1/2" holes on the left side of the frame near the first and last body mount. You should be able to slide the a dowel through the frame and there will be a corresponding hole in the body. The dowel should be perpendicular to the frame when its in all the way. Theres alot of wiggle room.

Actually, they are for our applications - check the lower menu. IDK why they come up as Ford?

I stand corrected! I ordered off part no. k6203-2, but where I ordered didn't specify Ford Galaxie 500. You can clearly see in the lower menu it's the correct part for many Buicks.. thanks for pointing it out!

Here's a shot of the L/S rear corner bushing. The only hole I see forward of the bushing doesn't have a corresponding hole in the body.

Sorry they are between the wheels. If you search for it on the site it's been discussed many times.

The holes are round with a slot. Hard to explain.

When I did my suspension I ordered +2 rear springs from Eaton. Wanted a bit more rake. Obviously my 275/60 fit no problem. I'm pretty sure +1 would fit them no problem either.

Larry, I have an old Moog catalog here, 1986.

#5385 is rated at 602 lbs load at 9". 0.580" wire dia and 166lbs/in rate.

All of the following are also rated at the 9" installed height:
#6435 at 760#, 0.565" wire, 140# rate. Should sit higher but it's softer too.
#5377 at 838#, 0.565" wire, 124# rate. Again, higher and softer.
#5399 is 850#, 0.580" wire, 166# rate. Similar to the stock 5385 but taller. The extra 250 lbs should be about 1.5" higher. (250/166= 1.49)

Softer/taller springs may work better on the strip, but not the autocross track.

This page will give you the specs, just enter 'pigtail, pigtail' and 9" for the load height.

I do have a chart I can scan and post if it helps.

Or just call Laura at Espo/Springs N Things. She's pretty sharp with the math and pricing is very competitive.

I have a long standing credit at Amazon, so I ordered a set of stock (Moog 5385) springs. Right now, the car is lower on one side by 3/4". That is with the huge shims (see 2nd picture in post #1), so I have no idea what springs are in the rear, but I am pretty sure they have to be wrong, so I'll start with stock because I like the ride height of the higher side. Amazon is pretty good about returns, so if I am unhappy, I can return them.

Was your body square on the frame?

Thanks for the pictures Kevin. That is a bit high for my tastes. 1" over would be more to my liking. If the 5385's don't give me what I want, I'll give Eaton a call.

I have a couple of questions. Right now, I only have isolators on the top of the spring. When I ordered new isolators from Moog, it said one on top and one on bottom of the spring. In the chassis manual, I only see one on the top. Is anyone using one top and bottom?

I looked at the chassis manual for spring orientation. It's very unclear in the 70 Manual. In the 71 Manual, they have this figure,

    SpringPosition.JPG

Looks like the end of the spring on top points at the right (passenger side) of the car, and is towards the rear of the car. Opinions?

I do, installed it that way last year and have no issues with it.
