Well deserved, congrats. The amount of work put into this kind of restoration is not understood by many but those that do simply get it. Car looks awesome by the way! Gary
I am pretty sure they're Cokers. I got them through Rusty Small at Rusted Tires. He is a distributor for Coker and a few of the other manufacturers. Also a board member "smallhurst"
Cool. I’ve talked to him in the parking lot at the Nats and picked up a flyer from his booth. I’ll check with him. Thanks! Patrick
Do you know if the single or double ww stripe is what came originally on these cars or was it random? IIRC, the double ww wasn't an option in and of itself but maybe I'm wrong there.
There were a lot of nice Buicks there, but this one was definitely my favorite. Fantastic job! Actually not just my favorite Buick, but one of my favorites of all the cars. Ryan asked me if I could pick one car to have, but couldn't sell it (for the money), which one would it be. I said that would be very difficult to decide, but I was leaning towards this car as being my pick.
The reason we went with dual stripe, is because all of the sales literature and the trim book has dual stripes on the wheels that show the wheel options. The crappy thing is, they don't make an oversize H78-14. We had to go with a G78. Chris, thank you! That means a lot.
This is a road test from 1970 of a GS350. It was wearing the optional H78-14s (vs. the G78 14 whitewall option that was also listed). The H-78s are definitely twin stripes… Patrick
Here is a '70 Skylark with 8,066 miles that was still riding on its original dual stripe tires. This was posted on V8Buick back in 2018.
Here’s a ‘70 Skylark from a test where it’s contrasted with a Stage 1. The ‘Lark is wearing G78-14 twin stripes… Patrick
Pretty sure I'm going to go w/ redlines on the "weird green 4-sp. car" as @Matt Knutson aptly named it. I think w/the emblems, rocker stripes, and the little bit of red in the wheelcover medallion along w/the two-tone green that they'll look a lot better than ww's. It's one the very few changes I plan on making to how it was orig. equipped (or not as the case may be).
Beat this dead horse one more time...this photo is the original spare tire in the trunk of a very low mileage '70 GS350:
Interestingly dual WW are not on the 70 order form. They’re on the 1971 Buick sales brochures . Are these late production ‘70 cars ?
Circling back around on this one. Previous owner's brother attended the show and took this video... I have one in the works, but haven't done any editing on it yet. Thanks to Joe Castrigano and DL Hutson for being my cover handlers
