Those crimps can be interesting to find. I have the tool that crimps them on.

is it a common crimp?the reason i ask is i have a place nearby that makes high pressure hoses, and i would rather have the same crimp if possible.

I remember having trouble finding them in that size when I was looking for them, which was probably 20+ years ago

I also remember finding smaller & bigger ones (metric sizes), or ones that were adjustable, but not the right sized ones.

I ended up with what I needed for my cars and that’s about it.

I have no idea what is available today.

Maybe Adam can chime in and let us know what he is using today.

I do know some guys put their originals back on. I used to loan out my crimping tool from time to time.

I have no idea what these markings on my firewall refer to. After my 70 GS was soda blasted, they became more visible. 8A6315FD-9DAF-4B40-A3AE-7147D3986DD0.jpeg 946C41E2-4F07-4B88-BADA-108A2A6F6B0C.jpeg 7028C4FB-9E68-4A42-8F52-E497157877A7.jpeg

usually the number /letters under the voltage reg is car color and letters behind the master cylinder refer to brakes i.e D C would indicate disc brakes/Clutch.....M=manual and so forth.what factory was your car built at?

The numbers look like they could identify your car model...like, 44637 for a 2 door hardtop as an example. I can't make out the fourth digit in your photo

The letters......maybe P/S for power steering or P/B for power brakes?? I can't make out what's after the "/"

I found a BB marking on the side of the case of my 1970 Stage 1 tranny after power washing 50+ years of stuff off

Marv -- Although I can't totally discern all the numeric characters in the first and second photos in your post re: the photos of the firewall of your car, I bet that it is 44637 which lines up with the model ID of your car per the VIN you recently posted.

What power options does your car have? Like power steering, brakes, seats, etc?

It was a very solid body shell and frame. Completely stripped of everything.
The GS appeared to be an automatic column shift, bench seat car. Non-Air, power steering.
With everything missing, I knew I could build it anyway I wanted and I had a lot of parts saved up to build a bucket seat 4-speed car. So… the only logical thing to do was remove the body from the frame, soda blasted the body, blast and powder coat the frame, and build a factory non option car that someone would have purchased in 1970 to make a killer street car or race car.
I had a NOS 455 engine that needed a home along with a new set of Stage 2 TE high port heads that flow 360 on the intakes and a couple of 800 cfm Quick Fuel Holleys that I managed to install on a 440 Cross Ram Intake.
I ended up with 600+ horsepower and 600+ ft lbs of torque.

Congratulations on a great build! Perhaps the alpha markings on the firewall are P/S indicating power steering installation.

upload_2023-6-17_20-37-20.png This might take some of the confusion out of the different platings and thier colors!!
