Dang. What a great endeavor! Congrats!

While it's a little early yet, this thread has the potential of beating out the shock absorber demonstration thread.

Jason- tell me you're NOT going to sell this! I know you will... However, it's kinda a semi- cool car from the disco era... Maybe not as cool as a Macho Trans Am.... but... I could see you rocking this thing... ;)

Good news....took the rear calipers apart and they are stainless steel sleeved. Half a loaf is better than nothing. I csn rebuild these at least and just get a pair for the front now.

I already bought the for sale signs..

So the car starts without the seatbelt buckled. I went into the storage area behind the passenger seat where the jack is stowed and there's a relay in there that's unplugged. I'm wondering if that's got anything to do with it

They probably cut the wires in the belt retractors.

I keep bouncing around the car taking things apart because I'm constantly waiting on parts....took the wonky headlight switch out. The reoststat was no good. That was not fun. Man, this car is like 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag. Zero room anywhere.

Engine runs well but the drivers bank has a slight miss at idle. Not sure if we have a vacuum leak somewhere, lean miss from the carb....pulled the plugs back out on that bank and they do look a little lean. Not gonna worry about it till we get a working brake pedal and I can road test it

I did manage to row it through the gears. The clutch seems to work...as much as I could test it on blocks...

So as it stands- waiting on brake parts, waiting on a headlight switch, waiting on my locksmith, waiting on 2 tires.....sigh....

Well, see what else you can take apart while you're waiting... :D

I retract my last comment- I found 2 cut wires! They were well hidden! I wonder if I could find that section of glass from another car...hmmm

The alarm horn should be back on the left rear.

I did something your not supposed to do when fixing an old car- add stuff up!

Brakes- so far the tally on just the brakes is an astonishing $1,000 just in parts. Thats all 4 calipers, 4 rotors, brake hoses, a master and some odds and ends. And that's after price shopping and trying to get the best deal. I saved $400 just by buying from rock as opposed to advance or auto zone. Everything should be here Thursday. So barring any unforseen complications, brake pedal by Friday.

Still on course for a Sunday test drive. Stay tuned....
