1967 Buick Special 2 Door Hardtop

300 2 barrel 2 speed automatic runs a drives well, but has been off the road for about 15 years in heated storage. Car is absolutely rock solid and rust free throughout but would need paint to be presentable top and rear window panel channel are in primer. Undercarriage has original undercoating, with no rust anywhere lower quarters, fenders and doors have never been patched or welded. All the side glass is in pristine condition, including the vent windows and vent window frames, it has a brand new windshield that is just sitting in the channel. This car would make a great GS 400 clone, front and rear windshield mouldings and wipers are present and in good condition. Had planned on purchasing just a replacement rear window, making all the glass about perfect. You would be hard pressed to ever find a cleaner 1967 Buick 2 door hardtop. More pictures upon request

    Asking : $12,500 OBO

Here are pictures of the Cowl Tag and vin number. Other than that I don't have any paperwork or history of the car. Thanks,

Interesting. Vin shows a v6 special and firewall trim tag shows a v8 special.
Seems like I've seen mismatched plates like that before. Both look to be installed with gm original rivets a far as I can see.
Looks to be a great canvas for someone to build or touch up and cruise in.
Good luck with the sale. Hopefully someone here will pick it up and we can watch its progress.

I looked at this car today and yes it is extremely solid but it needs a fair amount of work plus paint. I was curious as well why the VIN of 44517 doesn't match the data tag of 44617.... mismatched... hmmmmmm.
    Tony, what's up with that??

In 67 the trim tag underhood did not match the vin when looking for the engine designation. I found it out when I had a 67 Special and was selling it on BAT.com. I found the explanation on some site on the web, Team Buick or something, I couldn't find it just now. white 67 special 1.jpg

Hi, responding to the previous comment, thanks for the feedback on the car ... here's a possible explanation. The guy I bought it from gave me a verbal description and pictures of the car which he delivered from New Jersey with a truck and trailer, when I saw the car in person it was exactly what he had described and he seemed like a very upfront and honest guy .. . our intent was to make it a "knock off" GS 400. I really can't imagine that he created a false data tag to disguise a V-6 Special and make me believe it was the "highly potent" 300 2 barrel option? I've heard that more L88 Corvettes have sold at Barrett Jackson than were ever produced, I guess that element has leaked into the Buick world - where there may be more 300 2 barrel Specials out there than were ever produced. Whether it is a V-6 Special that somebody installed the beloved 300 2 barrel or not, it's still remains a ROCK SOLID - RUST FREE - Buick 2 Door Hardtop with show quality glass, and no signs of any collisions - ever, for this reason I'm probably not going to hunt down the guy I bought it from for his fraudulent attempt to fool me :). Best Regards, Tony
