I recall reading a previous post about this issue, but cannot seem to find that post.

My question: on a 1972 GS, what are the two (1") holes located on either side of the floor pan in the rear seat section. The bottom part of the rear seat would cover these holes once installed. Does some type of plug or grommet go into these holes? What are they for?

I have attached a photo of both sides (passenger & driver). In the pics, one side is primed and the other is painted.

    Thanks

They are drain holes and small round dimpled plates get body caulked to cover them, just like the floor pan oval plugs.

    Duane,

These are metal plugs (like the oval ones) correct? I am finding a bunch of "rubber plugs out there, but I seem to recall these were metal..

like these, right? Does the dimple point upward (ie: mounted as shown)?

Yep, that's them, and the raised area goes down into the hole.
