I installed this pump earlier in the season when my stocker couldn't keep up. I did not take advantage of the return line option . Pump is great on the street where RPMs stay low, but when coming out of the burnout box and going thru the traps, both high RPM situations, the pump pressure seems to be overwhelming the secondary float and the engine floods.
I'm using a Demon 850 . Rear sight bowl fills to top and it pushes past needle/seat. Should I remove pump, drill and tap return outlet, then run a return line to tank? Will this suffice, or will a return style regulator mounted after pump, before carb, be necessary? TIA for your response....Jim

    Follow up question:
I bought the pump from a V8 board member. Is this the brass fitting designated for the return line to tank?
    Real small orifice....

Called TA yesterday, described my symptoms, asked if return line from pump would be my fix.
Was told to tape a FP guage to windshield and let her eat , observe pressure.
Also that an inline return style regulator would be necessary if pressure was indeed excessive at high (5000) rpm.
    So ,
Whats the option for the return line on the pump itself?

Will report back after I figure it out....Jim

    My thoughts too Bruno....
I may go with the return style regulator and leave the pump well enuff alone...
    Will see....Jim

2019-09-04 12.34.35.jpg I am planning on adding an electric fuel pump in the future, which requires a regulator, so I ran a -6an braided stainless return line to the tank sender , a RobbMC unit with provision for return line. Mounted a Quick Fuel regulator to the inner fender and plumbed the mechanical pump to it then to the carb, return line to tank. After a couple test passes down the track, no more flooding! Yay!
