I have a 401 Nailhead + Dynaflow from a 1961 Buick Invicta, still between the frame rails. Intended on getting it running for a future project, but circumstances change.

Car was a 4 door donor for a 2 door project I have been working on. Currently just a frame, suspension and engine/mission. Car was from California and was an A/C car. I believe the odometer was around 100,000.

When I bought the car the engine cranked slowly, but never fired. I never made any other attempt to get it running. Still has old plugs, had old gas etc. I always thought it would fire with a little effort, but never tried and therefore have no idea.

It is very complete from air cleaner to oil pan, from fan to mission tailshaft, from exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold. Currently the starter is not installed, but I have it (a friend wanted to buy it for a 60 Lesabre, but it didn't fit). All the brackets and belts are there.

Found a number on the top of the block by the mission: 1196546-1

Engine is in Columbus, OH and can be seen most evenings after 7:00 or most weekends. I don't currently have an engine lift, but I can get one with some notice, or take the whole rolling chassis, if you want!

$400 for the engine and transmission (and chassis if you want it ... gets you free finned aluminum drums)

Lose my garage at the end of August.

If only I was closer. Is it same as a 66 401?
