Hi All, I am new to this form by virtue of purchasing a rebuilt 401 nailhead engine and trans. Paid $1500.00 which seem like a great deal. I will be stripping the outside of the engine/trans and repainting them black. New finned valve covers, valley pan, plug covers, etc will be added. This is going into a 1958 Morgan which is sitting on a custom boxes ladder chassis with S-10 LSD rear end with adjustable coil overs with training arms, four link and pan hard bar and with disc's and a dropped I-beam front end with disc's. The I-beam is due to a very low point on the front end that was hitting a Mustang ll front-end. Everything that can be deleted has....top, wipers, door handles, windshield, now a wind screen, etc. I am trying to unashamedly trying to replicate the 2015 Morgan Lightweight Speedster. I have constructed a rear assembly behind the seats that is connected to the frame that the roll bars mount to. Once finished my target weight is 2200 with 325HP and 4325 torque. Right now have the front motor mounts completed and the trans mount completed. I have the gas tank in and will be ordering the entire front end in the next two weeks. I will running true wire spoke wheels from Wheel Vintiques, 16 x 5 front and 16 x 6 rear which I already have. I have also already mounted a set of O'Brien hub caps/spinners on the wheels. They look very nice. I will also be swapping out my axels to match the 5 x 5.5 wheel bolt pattern. Once sitting the body on the frame with the engine and trans mounted my concerns of an aircleaner clearing the hood became al to real......a hole will need to be cut, thus revealing that a big engine does sit underneath.....so much for being stealthy! I will be selecting an aircleaner shortly and will then be able to cut the correct sized hole. I will be finishing the firewall and roughing in floor shortly as well.

Attached is a photo of the engine and trans in the frame as well as the wheels, which will be stripped and re-powder coated black.

Any input, guidance, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Pretty experienced at building motorcycles fr0m the ground up and this is first foray into building a car from scratch....save the body. Thanks.
