Good catch. Makes a little sense. There is a lot of money in muscle cars, but price sells cars. $30,000 is too much maybe? I know the major marketplace for older cars has shifted from Craigslist to facebook marketplace. Facebook is free and as far as I know has no time limit on "ads" while CL has always had about a 30 day timeout and now charges $5 every 30 days.

I see a fair amount of ads saying "I don't need to sell" OK, but then why are you putting it out there? I look for price adjustments.

 

Owner of the car says it is still for sale. He listed it about a year ago, and just renewed the ad recently.

The "Crème de la Crème" of Wildcats, the "Holy Grail". Wow. Only 114 built, can't be that many survivors. Looks pretty original too, it doesn't get any better.

Well, besides the awful colour and the aged interior, it looks like it would make a nice project. It'd be a blast to drive too; - problem is, not many people know how to drive a manual these days, which may account for why the car is still there and that he's had to drop his price, that and who knows how much work it needs. Sad thing is that it's "rare but nobody cares", if it was an Impala SS it wouldn't have lasted ten minutes and would have created a traffic jam of people falling over themselves to get to it. A big Buick, yeah, well...

"Hmm; didn't know Buick made a full-size 4 speed car with dual quads, has to be aftermarket". - How many times have I heard that from "car experts"?

All that said; - I'd still love to own it, it would be a hoot to drive and shame all those Impala SS guys who think they're better or faster. Hope it finds a good home.

 

What is the standard rear end ratio in a 64 wildcat 4 speed?

Unfortunately not. I've got the numbers on that data and the posi was a separate order from, the 4-speed. My 65 3-speed column shift is an open 3.42.

 

man I love those little consoles.

 

I'm very much a potential buyer. I just need to hire a knowledgeable party to do a thorough inspection.

 

It would be interesting to see what options in the musclecar era automatically triggered a "posi" and perhaps others that made it a mandatory option. We all know the Stage 1 would be at the top of our list!

Terrible ad maybe contributing to the "no sale"? Why would you not have a picture of the engine compartment. No mention or photo of any rust this car is probably going to have somewhere.
