1966 Buick Gran Sport convertible factory 4 speed. 1 of 431 built. Missouri car. #s matching 401 nailhead, new alternator, water pump, mini starter, new gas tank, new fuel and brake lines, excellent frame, all new body mounts, car will need restoration.. but mostly complete... will be at Syracuse nationals for under 10k.. very rare convertable 4-speed car... it does not run as it is. Motor needs to be freshened up, Needs New Cam and lifters, timing chain and gear set and rocker arms.... the engine is just assembled to keep the parts in order.

Looks like a great deal. Why does the interior of the engine need so much work, but the exterior looks so good? Did something grenade?

I was thinking that too. I don't see a shifter either.

@Dano noticed the same thing, didn't see a shifter either. Carpet is pretty cut up where the shifter would come out of the hump. Also, tried to see if it's got the three pedals under there, can't seem to get a good look though.

And no bellhousing attached to the engine.
Bob had an automatic in it, wonder if the 4 speed stuff is included? It does still have the clutch pedal.
Joe and Tom T likely know more details about the car. The FB seller appears to be a car dealer.
Wish I could take this car into my care but I already have too many projects.

He told me it has the 4 speed just not #'s matching. The cars at the Syracuse nationals right now until the end of the week or until it sells.

Heard it was a saginaw trans, not a t10, but you'd have to check.

This is a tough one to id no buildsheet no trans and no 4 speed code on cowl. Looks like its about time for a restoration as shes starting to delaminate [/ATTACH] 1626329383373[1].jpg 1626329404646[1].jpg 1626329421171[1].jpg

    Did you buy it?
The cowl plates on the Baltimore cars didn't have much info on them. I have ZA, ZB, and ZBC codes on mine. I have seen an 'R' on another 66 GS vert.

Here's a build thread from 2008 when Bob got it back on the road. He had a Muncie M20 in it at the time, later replaced with a 4 speed auto.

Walt, so Baltimore tags don’t have a trans code like B, L, or X?

There is very little info on the Baltimore cowl tag.
There is usually a Fischer build sheet stuffed in the front and/or rear seat springs that will show the codes for the transmission.

Wow, so what happened? There seemed to be a lot of interest in it judging by how many people were looking at it.
