1966 Buick Skylark

    Thanx 4 allowing me in .So I have a 1966 Buick Skylark and want to put a center console.Does the console have to be year specific or can I pick up something in late 70's ,am looking for a horseshoe shifter do automatic,can anyone help please

    usually year specific or, for instance, but the console in 70-72 are the same

    Since you own the car you can do whatever you want, it all depends what your goals for the car are. If you want a concourse level car everything's pretty well gotta be original like it came from the factory otherwise anything goes.

    Welcome to V8 Buick!
    65-67 used the same console for the 2 speed auto, although 67 had a textured plastic base instead of the smooth base on 65-66. 67 3 speed auto used a much different shifter.
    Horseshoe shifters came on later years so you will need to do some mods to adapt those..... I believe those used cables whereas the 65-67 used a solid rod linkage.

    if you go to shift works they now make the the shifters for this cars
