Does anyone know by chance what the factory size sway bars are on a gs340. My car has a factory rear bar. I guess it was part of the Sport Pac Option" - H4 Rallye Road Control Package for $126.38 (included a heavy duty rear stabilizer bar). Thanks guys

I'd like to follow this thread. I didn't know the made different size rears. I do have a GS340 front in my shop, it measures .970"

That is a pretty rare option on any 67 GS. I have seen more GS 340's than GS 400's with that option.

Yes it is rare with only 699 (18.9%) of the GS340s receiving this option. The breakdown by plant is shown below. Strangely, the option H4 Rallye Road Control Package was only offered on the GS340 and not available on the GS400.

Gary, on the 67 GS 400 could it be a dealer installed item like a 1966 GS? Or even a SCO request?

What the hell, let's bring back an oldie but not too old.

I just noticed the Black skylark in my avatar has a factory rear sway bar. Looks maybe 3/4" diameter -ish.

What options would need to be ordered or how did that happen?
My original car had open lower control arms and no sway bar which I assumed were standard.

Is there a particular factory rule regarding rear sway bars?

My 1967 340/4 - AT Special Wagon has (had) a factory front sway bar. I have no reason to believe it wasn't factory.

A rear sway bar was not offered on the Special, Skylark, or GS 400 and it is not shown on the order form nor in any factory literature. For 1967 only the GS 340 was available with this option and it is shown on the blue order form as option H4.

The Skylark had a ride and handling option (option H2 on the pink order form) but it did not include a rear sway bar. Option H2 was not offered with the GS 400 because this suspension was standard on the GS 400.

Thanks BUQUICK. That is a load of information and exactly what I was looking for.
I'm not trying to match up cowl tags and options, but it is simply an education point.
    Thanks again.
