Max Damage I'm working on it!

Now that I have my shiny new freeze plugs and all the "while I am here" associated stuff back together, a test fire and run of the engine (still runs), reveals a drip at the heater core.

So, what is entailed in getting at this? Can I do it from the engine compartment side? The Chassis manual instructs me to "remove the right fender skirt" whatever that is...

Thanks for tips and ideas on making this possible.

That'd be what's commonly referred to as the RF inner fender or wheelhouse. Fun. I once did a '66 Heater core w/o removing the RF fender skirt. I was prob. 18 y/o & had to be a bit of a contortionist IIRC - Not sure how much m/l accessible the '68 is.

So if I can at that bottom nut under under the Fan, then I am good?

Always up for a challenge to my manual dexterity, although since I am pushing 60, not that flexible...

I am planning on having my heater core repaired/recored by a local known good guy (Greenwood Radiator). I will ask him about the core he uses, since I see Brett recommended the place out of Maine. As always I appreciate all the knowledge and experience that is shared on here!!

I think that's the trick. You can't see what you're doing. I was young, broke, & too dumb to know how not to do it:). Never tried it on a '68-72.
