A little past the time promised, but Photobucket takes time to upload. ou: Spent about an hour with Jurij this afternoon checking the car over as thoroughly as I could, given that it hasn't been moved since snow began falling. Wasn't able to get underneath the check trans tag, you'll see why. Car is pretty much as described in Jurij's other thread, save for non original carb, likely non original distributor, and engine sports faded blue paint. Uncertain as to why, as apparently was pulled long ago and rebuilt. Could be it was painted that color, or it is a replacement. Couldn't find numbers under all the grime. Edit When asked about the currency, Jurij said Canadian. I was also given a "buy it now" number, which out of respect for him, (and those who responded in this thread) I won't reveal. Interested parties will need to bargain direct in the order as posted above. Here we go!! Carb has remanufacture tag from a local rebuilder. Distributor looks to have a tag similar to one on carb. Close up. Grill is nice with one small crack at bottom of centre, didn't get photo of that. Look lower left for crack. Original emissions label! Closer view. Shroud repair, but it looks fairly decent overall. Battery tray. Dig those pipes!! Bumper slightly tweaked. Damn thieves. :blast: :af: More to come in next post. :TU: :Smarty:
Round two: Now that's an old sticker!! On to the roof rust under created by vinyl tops. Driver side quarter panel. Window not on its track. Interior. Back seat, looks hardly used. :Brow: Door panel. Door tag. :beer More to follow.
VIN. Engine. Intake manifold. Valve covers look correct. This is the best side. Hard to see here, but that looks like 75-76 Buick blue under the grease. Passenger quarter panel. Passenger door. The Holy Grail. p Now what the hell is this?? :idea2: Northerners ought to know. p  More blue on passenger side engine. Lotsa white powder around the car. And I'm not young anymore. Replacement diff cover, posi tag is MIA. That's all folks!! :bglasses:
Likewise, it was great to meet you, and thanks for taking the time to show me your car today. :beers2: :beers2:
Tom, great job on the pics and honest description. Too bad that the original items on the motor and the motor itself aren't original. I'm out if it gets to me
agreed. Someone painted everything blue at some point. There's blue on the spark plug wires and even the throttle spring. I also see some red in places.
Wow, hard to believe that's a Manitoba car, it looks like it spent its life in Ontario by the looks of the rust issues. Maybe they drove to Thunder Bay to go skiing
True, I could have been a bit more specific in saying the original engine could have been painted that color. There does seem to be some faded red paint, so who knows for sure. I didn't have any grime cleaning material with me, and the footing around the engine area was sketchy for someone, ie: me, who has a wonky right knee. He's not going to sell cheap, so Jason Cook need not apply.  If it's still around in spring, I could return for further engine investigation after the white stuff disappears. Original owner drove the car all year. :error: ou: But apparently, he plenty of good stories. :TU:
Hopefully you did or will encourage the new owner to become a member here so that we can follow the restoration of the car. Congrats on the sale.
