throwing my 1970 buick gs 455 up to the market. was told to be the original matching motor car. there is no numbers on the front of the head by the power steering pump and nothing on the side of the drivers head either. or I might just be blind trying to find them. car has been sitting since 1992ish. original color is I believe bamboo cream with brown vinyl top and brown interior. ps and ac. automatic on the column. any other specifics I will have to look at to answer questions. motor and tranny are out of the car. if I recall from when I purchased it, the only thing that was missing was the front grill, and possibly the front bumper. The car is located in Turlock ca asking 10k for the 1970 buick gs 455. please send me any questions and will answer as fast as I can. will also work on getting pictures in the next day or so of the car.
Please post the state and city as required. As a practical matter, in order to make a sale, you are going to need to post pictures, even though it is optional. On a 70 GS the numbers are not on the front of the heads. They are on the exposed deck of the block on the driver’s side. Look on the cowl tag to verify the color. If the paint code is 50, the color is bamboo cream.
If your car was built in Flint Michigan the vin number will be on the deck between the number one and number two spark plugs. Can you post a picture of the Cowl tag ?
Inline pending pictures and further information. How long ago did you purchase it? Clear title in your name? Other paperwork? Posi rearend? Any extra parts? Thanks in advance Marc.
Have had the car since 1992. Nothing extra with the car. Just way to many cars right now. Might be also selling a 1967 Buick gs 400 convertible as well soon. But haven’t decided on that one just yet. Have some gto’s and a 442 w-30 to jump onto next
That picture helps out a lot your car was not built in Flint so if it's original motor to the car you should find an SR code on the deck right above the number five and seven spark plugs Then number should be on the front deck next to the timing cover could on the power steering pump side you need to verify that it's an SR code block first.
Must have been an edit? Probably good from a rust perspective, but I'm out do to distance. Thanks Marc.
Anyone interested in the 70 gs455 have a lot of people in my area that want parts. someone can make me an offer on the whole thing. Will be dropping the motor and tranny back into it in the next week or so for easier transportation.
