That is a friend's car. Nice car too.

135k? Wow, such a deal. I'd think it'd have air cleaner foams for that price, oh wait, there they are - in the trunk.

Sorry for the carcasm, I just hate to see our cars dissapearing into the realm of the rich.

I'm getting a little lost in the price variation between very similar cars too. Besides which, as I've said before you can get two brand new Z06 Corvettes for that money that go about 200mph and have several years warrantee. Or a Ford GT (if you are on the list). Or several other really amazing machines for sale today new that would blow the socks off of it. Or just about any of the great collector Corvette cars. Or whatever. $135K is a lot of money and there are many alternatives if you have that much in your pocket to spend.

Have you priced a ZL1 camaro lately? The price of 5 Ford GTs.

Good example of another price way out of whack compared to what you can get today. It's not the early 80s anymore when you couldn't get a new fast car or convertible. The unfortunate thing for us Buick folks is that there isn't a new one available that is in the super car category like the Z06, Ford GT, Viper etc. We're stuck. Granny and Grand Dad have come home to roost on the new Buick offerings. No muscle cars in their line up. GM must figure that Buick people want slow big cars. Evidently they haven't visited this site.

If Chevrolet were to build a new "Super Camaro" and Dodge a new "Hemi-Challenger", collectors who own Zl1 camaros or Hemi E-bodies won't be selling those cars to buy a new offering. History is being purchased right before your eyes. Will it last? Who knows.

Go try to buy Ocean front property in the Hamptons. I'm sure 30 years ago the locals couldn't believe what they were getting for their property then. Looking back their probably kicking themselves in the a%^.

    Time marches on. :)

I understand where you're coming from. But real estate is different. These are fancy tractors. Machines. If you get our age and memories out of the way, then performance for the dollar should play into it somewhere. Not completely, but it should have a strong influence. That's all I'm saying.

I know the owner of this car also, and he does have quite a nice collection of Buicks. If he had the time for this board, I think all here would agree that he is first class.
The price may be high - the car is beautiful - but remember the car is on consignment at that location.
I'd love to own a Z06 also, but right now in my life, that car is for the rich.
Hey, I'm sure some of us have tuned into the Barrett Jackson auction, and look what a 67(?) GTX brought. $100,000.00?!
Perceived value my friends, what is something worth to you?

Your right Mike. Real estate and cars may not be the best comparison.

As you can see, I am not a Buick expert but if you could buy this car at 125k it would be a bargain. :bglasses:

Without seeing this car in person, its hard to say if 135K is a bargain. Who restored it, and to what degree! Patrick
