    1970 Skylark body and frame.

    1972 350 completely rebuilt

    TH350 Rebuilt

    8.5 Rear axle 3.08 posi – rebuilt.

    Stock front disc brakes

Quick ratio steering box – new

15x7 Buick Ralleys (new) 235s front, 255 rear.

Seamist Green BC/CC paint – Sanded and buffed

    Sandalwood interior and top.

Build was started with a quite clean body and frame. Basically I had all the parts kicking around to build the car so we built it. Was built to be a driver. Car is extremely clean and detailed but is NOT a perfect show car. However, it will show very well. Just not in a concours category. There are over 450 pictures of the restoration of the car that will be included with it.

    · Motor is a rebuilt 1972 350. New +.010 pistons Standard bearings. TA 212-350 Cam. High volume oil pump. Rebuilt Rochester carb. Petronix ignition. Ceramic coated stock manifolds

    · Transmission TH350 rebuilt – history unknown. Work as it should.

    · Rear axle is a 71-72 8.5 posi with 3.08 gears built by Brian Trick

    · Suspension is completely rebuilt with Moog stock bushings and parts. Rear sway bar. SSBC front disc brake conversion.

    · Body was completely sandblasted, coated with epoxy etching primer and repaired. Needing only a few small floor patches and two trunk pan panels. Quarters we replaced long ago with factory quarters. Parts were reworked and repaired. (many photos included with car) Paint is RM Diamont basecoat with DC5300 urethane clear. Chassis, wheel wells, radiator support etc. are painted in PPG Concept single stage urethane (appropriately flattened) Motor is also painted in Concept. Trunk is painted in Zolatone correct splatter paint.

    · Front bumper is new aftermarket. Rear is original re-chromed. Headlight bezels are re-chromed ($450 ea!!!) Door handles are new. Hood molding, grill moldings are new. All other trim is clean, buffed original. Wheels are new.

    · Exhaust is new and pieced together from a system that didn’t get used from another job. Personally I don’t like it and may change it out. Too stock sounding/looking. But it’s all new.

    · Interior is all new Legendary. ACC carpet.

I'm guilty and even though the rules are clear, it seems there is/was/should a big difference & a "look the other way" attitude wrt enforcement between posting something complimentary vs. derogatory & even if complimentary I always offer to delete if the OP desires.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I think this car was in many ways a good deal. I was thinking about it and if someone had to buy a Skylark Convertible and the parts to make it a GS it would cost some big money. Then think about what it would cost to have a shop to do a frame off restoration !!! I would bet if I brought the car to a shop I would be into the car for a heck of a lot more than this car was sold for. Not sure how many hours your shop took to do this car or your hourly rate but I would bet strong money my bill for your shop to do this car for me would be a heck of a lot more $$$

You did a great job on that car and someone will really enjoy it.

Thanks. This car would have been about $125k to do. Being ours it was more for fun and use up parts we had kicking around. Of course it was never supposed to come out this nice. We had fun doing it and driving it all summer. NOW TO FINISH THE SPORTWAGON!!!
