That car looks familiar. With the unusual color combination it's likely the same car. I'll see if I can find the thread and photos from years ago.
Maybe - I think I know what car you're referring to & it was in CA. Was a base Sandalwood interior w/PW & P-seat too. I didn't remember it being green but hey, I'm getting lol. There's an NOS steering wheel for it on eBay. Not sure what he's referring to by 2-tone green & don't think that's orig. paint.
Definitely a thread on this car from a while back (last couple of years?) when it was for sale in California. Steve weim55 Colorado
There was another one in CT ('70 GS 455) that sold not long after this car that also had a base Sandalwood interior w/PW. @GS44667 has a '70 base Sandalwood GS that came w/a Rallye steering wheel which is also quite unusual. I find it quite interesting how these cars were ordered back when everything was a-la-carte and the manufacturers would even do SCO type stuff.
Is this the car that was also owned by a board member? It was a documented correct original Stage 1 but had a VIN that started with 44437 (skylark) instead of 44637?
So you remember that car too? I looked for the photos last night but couldn't find them. I also could not find the thread here on the board about the car. Sure seemed like a factory mistake on the VIN since everything checked out correctly. Maybe the owner will chime in here and confirm if it is, or is not the same car.
Actually by mid-May of 1970 the provision for the pop-up spring was already showing up on some 1970 model cars. However, this car appears to be an early production car (doomed lens, plastic radiator cover, clear top overflow jug) so the hood has been replaced.
Is this the same car that you formerly owned? If not, wasn't it the same or very similar color combination with a sandalwood standard interior?
Thanks Alan. It's a very unusual car with the standard sandalwood interior and PW so I can't imagine that there many like that out there.
