I have a 1972 Buick skylark my alternator died and I’m looking for a replace that is high output for a lot of music that’s installed in my car, or can I have my current one rebuilt to higher amps it was a high output alternator I got from the stereo store years ago so it’s better than stock. Any info much appreciated, anyone know if JS alternators are of good quality I seen them on Facebook
Look for a 1983-1986 Delco Remy Type 12Si Series Internal Regulator: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/gm-cars-alternators/ Todd sells the regulator bypass.
Do you have a part# for a 12si alternator, I also need more power with an electric fuel pump and amp playing my volts drop down to around 10-11
Stock was 94 amps. Just do a google search. also: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/alternative-alternators.44117/ and: http://www.madelectrical.com/electricaltech/delcoremy.shtml from MAD: 12SI, 94 amp, at 3:00 (AC-DELCO # 321-266, Lester #7294-3) Tell the auto parts counter person that “The alternator is for a 1984 High performance Chevy Camaro, with 5.0L (305G) engine, 94amp alternator 12SI, 94 amp, at 9:00 (AC-DELCO # 321-269, Lester #7294-9) Tell the auto parts counter person that “The alternator is for a 1985 Buick Riviera, 5.0L (307Y engine), with Heavy Duty options and Air Conditioning.”
